Bar Convent Brooklyn (BCB), an extension of Bar Convent Berlin, is coming to the Brooklyn Expo Center on June 12-13, 2018.
Now in its 12th year, the Bar Convent concept has grown from a small industry meeting to one of the leading international trade shows for the bar and beverage industry.
“Bar Convent exhibitors and speakers create an environment for not only the exchange of ideas and best practices, but for building valuable relationships and getting business done. The inaugural Bar Convent Brooklyn brings that winning formula to one of the most important brand-building markets in the world. It’s exciting news for the U.S. spirits industry.”
– Harry Kohlmann, CEO of Park Street, which works with over 1,000 domestic and international alcoholic beverage brands
BCB will offer bar and beverage professionals the opportunity to network with peers and learn about new trends, techniques, and products in the domestic and international markets. Attendees can also partake in taste forums, demonstrations, and education sessions led by leading industry experts. BCB exhibitors will be carefully curated to feature premium craft spirit brands. Select bar equipment purveyors will also be showcased.
“We are pleased to announce that Bar Convent Brooklyn will feature industry leaders Bacardi U.S.A., Campari America, Hennessy, and Pernod Ricard USA as presenting sponsors. Their insight and influence will enable us to deliver the quality of products and learning opportunities that discerning bar and beverage professionals need to elevate their craft and careers.”
– Paula November, vice president of Bar Convent Brooklyn
BCB has also announced Angus Winchester as its director of education. Winchester has had a long and illustrious career—from global bar consultant at Alconomics Asia to vice president of education and training for Barmetrix, and has won numerous awards, including Best International Brand Ambassador, Best Bar Mentor, and Wine Enthusiast Brand Ambassador/Mixologist of the Year. With his renowned for his expertise in beverage programming, Winchester will develop leading-edge education in both the craft and business realms of the bar and beverage industry exclusively for BCB.
Reed Exhibitions, a successful organizer of more than 500 events in 43 countries, manages Bar Convent Berlin and will bring the show to New York.
“In Europe, Bar Convent has proved to be the B2B event for connecting the global beverage industry with bartenders and food and beverage professionals from all over the world. Now, we are going to focus on the American market. The New York metropolitan area has the highest concentration of bartenders in the country, making it an ideal location for professionally sampling alcohol as a semi-luxury. We are looking forward to the first edition of Bar Convent Brooklyn this June.”
– Petra Lassahn, director of Reed Exhibitions Deutschland
