National Hot Toddy Day is January 11th, 2017, and Drambuie and Monkey Shoulder Whisky have two delicious hot toddies to mix up.
The heather honey liqueur and whisky have provided delicious upgrades to your classic warm cocktail. These recipes are perfect for a cozy evening.
Drambuie’s Broadford Toddy
Drambuie is made from a delightful combination of scotch whisky, heather honey, herbs and spices.
- 1 1/2 parts Drambuie
- 1/2 part Hudson Manhattan Rye
- 1/4 part St. Elizabeth Allspice Dram
- 3 dashes Chocolate Bitters
- 2 Orange wedges
- 2 Lemon wedges
- 1 small pinch Grated Nutmeg
- 4-5 Parts Hot Water
- (Add Honey to taste)
Garnish: Clove-Studded Lemon Wheel
Preparation: In a mixing tin muddle orange and lemon wedges. Add other ingredients minus water. Add ice to tin and shake vigorously. Double-strain into Irish coffee mug and add hot water and honey to taste.
- 1 1/2 Parts Monkey Shoulder Whisky
- 2 bar spoon Sugar/Honey
- 2 1/2 Parts Boiling Water
- 1 Clove
Preparation: Add sugar of honey to heat proof glass. Add boiling water and allow to infuse. Now add Monkey Shoulder and stir until sugar/honey is dissolved and cloves infused. Garnish with clove studded lemon wedge.
