This past weekend, Mohegan Sun Casino’s annual wine and food festival began with a grand bourbon tasting that gave attendees an outstanding glimpse into the latest offerings in bourbon, and the favored brown spirit continued to flow throughout the weekend.
The 16th annual Sun Wine & Food Fest four-day affair started with the Boston Brews & Bites event, with guests Pedro Martinez, Paul Pierce, Ray Bourque, and Willie McGinest. The next night, guests sampled the finest bourbons paired with a rich selection of cigars.
Day three offered a sampling of more than 1,000 varieties of wine, beer, and spirits (with—you guessed it—bourbon), with a celebrity chef lineup that included live cooking demonstrations and tastings throughout the day. The one-of-a-kind event concluded on Sunday with a brunch hosted by country music star Martina McBride and Little Big Town’s Kimberly Schlapman, with The Roots’ Questlove serving as DJ.
The thousands of attendees enjoyed bourbon tasting, along with incredibly informative (and flavorful) wine and beer tastings, and, of course, any foodie’s dream—meals cooked by more than 20 celebrity chefs, including Bobby Flay, Michele Ragussis, Todd English, Aaron Sanchez, and Jasper White.
The atmosphere was fun-filled, the guests were delighted, and the food and drinks were out of this world. We can’t wait to return for number 17!
