Chillin’ with Connor Weil

By Chilled Magazine

Connor Weil may have been “offed” in the last season of MTV’s “Scream”, but like many dead characters, he will resurface in a flashback it seems.

Weil’s face might also be familiar from “Sharknado” and he can also be seen in “Kickin’ It”, “Liv and Maddie”, “Dirty Teacher”, “Cash & Bernstein” and “The Jadagrace Show.”

CHILLED: Tell us a bit about the projects you are working on or have coming up.

CONNOR WEIL: There are a few projects that I am in discussions about. It’s still a bit premature to say too much, however I can say that I enjoy looking for athletic sport movies with some heart behind it.

CHILLED: With your busy schedule, what do you like to do with your down time?

CW: Down time equals time to relax and recharge. To completely recharge, I go to the ocean with my surfboard. Being in nature in that way recharges all my stresses. My little outlets to relax usually include a fun dinner with my lady, playing video games with my roommate, playing music, and working out.

CHILLED: When you go out to eat, where do you like to dine?

CW: On casual fun nights, I love bar food. Give me onion rings, fried pickles, French fries, and a burger and I’ll be happy. On nicer nights, I love really fresh gourmet food. Places like Granville Cafe, Mohawk Bend, Wokcano, Octopus, Duke’s Malibu, and McCormick and Shmick’s tend to cover my wide field of lovable cuisine quite nicely.

CHILLED: What types of dishes do you usually order?

CW: I try to round out my meals. I love starting with a fresh appetizer; something like grilled vegetables, buratta, or, if someone has it, bacon-wrapped, blue cheese-stuffed dates. Yum!!! Then a nice salad, followed by the entree being fish, steak, or some kind of good protein. A little bread pudding dessert with some coffee wraps it all up quite nicely.

CHILLED: Do you cook?

CW: I do cook! I’m getting better at it, but I got the basics down. I cook a mean grilled cheese. Not kids style, I’m talking tomatoes and bacon added in. I really specialize in breakfast foods. I love making omelets, or eggs cooked however you like them. Love starting the day off right!

CHILLED: What types of drinks do you order when you go out?

CW: I like to think of myself as classic. I love bourbon cocktails in either an Old Fashion, or Manhattan format. Sometimes though, you can’t go wrong with a good whiskey on the rocks. Otherwise I just recently found my wine palate, so a nice Zin, blend, or Merlot will compliment a meal nicely depending on how I feel.

CHILLED: Do you prepare drinks at home?

CW: Yes I do! I make a really good Manhattan, and I’m still refining my Margarita skills. My dad is an expert at Margaritas, so I have a good teacher.

CHILLED: Do you own a home bar?

CW: I have a little classy beverage cart that my lady helped me pick out. It has any cocktail glass you would need, and it’s well on its way to be fully stocked.

CHILLED: What’s the cart stocked with?

CW: So far, any cocktail glass you need, Makers, Jack, Jim, apricot brandy, simple syrup, a bartenders recipe book, a cocktail shaker, wine keys, and a wine rack filled with a variety of newly bought wines from Napa.

CHILLED: What do you want to add to your home bar?

CW: Well I still have much to add to my home bar. First on my list is a full shaker set including measuring tools, more liquor options including vodka, gin, Rum, tequila, more bourbon options, Mule cups, and finally mixing ingredients like bitters, mint leaves, margarita mix, and salt. Sorry for the long list. I get excited!

CHILLED: What is your favorite drink/cocktail?

CW: My favorite so far has to be an Old Fashion. Not too much sweetener… I like my drink strong.

CHILLED: Have you ever been a bartender?

CW: Haven’t been an official bartender before, but I am on my way to learning how to be one.
