Premium American Rye Whiskey Portfolio Introduces its First New Mash Bill.

Redemption Whiskey is expanding its portfolio with its first Wheated Bourbon. Owned by Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits, Redemption Whiskey is known for producing premium rye whiskey and bourbon with high rye content. Continuing in that tradition, Redemption has released another true expression of grain; the limited-edition Redemption Wheated Bourbon ($45.99 SRP) featuring a mash bill of 45 percent winter wheat.

“The release of our Redemption Wheated Bourbon represents the first in a series of limited production expressions that we will bring to market over the next few years. The wheat and corn in the Wheated Bourbon combine to create a complex, unique and delicious whiskey.”
– Tom Steffanci, President of Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits

Redemption Whiskey, Limited Edition Wheated Bourbon

While most wheat-forward bourbons have between 20% and 30% of the grain in the mash bill, Redemption’s Wheated Bourbon contains 45% winter wheat, 51% corn, and 4% malted barley. Complimented by four years of aging in new oak barrels and the high wheat content, this whiskey is mellow and nutty and a long smooth finish, even at 96 proof.

Tasting Notes: Redemption Wheated Bourbon – 96 Proof; $45.99 SRP

Mash bill: 45% winter wheat, 51% corn, and 4% malted barley. Silky and harmonious on the palate, this whiskey is delicate yet robust and intense. Flavors of roasted coffee bean, smoked meats and hazelnut marry harmoniously with spicy notes of cardamom and black pepper and a fresh hint of mint. Complex aroma notes of candied ginger, sage, lavender, fresh pear, vanilla, and cedar come together with nuances of bay leaf and burnt toffee. A deep topaz and amber color, with hues of orange and lime.

Distinctive for quality aging and the blending of young and old whiskies, Redemption Whiskey is distilled in Indiana and bottled in small batches, with the batch number printed on every label. Redemption’s award-winning portfolio also includes Redemption Rye, Redemption Bourbon and Redemption High Rye Bourbon. In addition, Limited Edition Aged Barrel Proof selections, which received Double Gold medals at the San Francisco Spirits Competition in 2016 and 2017, are released in small quantities each year.
