Must Mix: Mi Casa Margarita from Tijuana Picnic, NYC
By Chilled Magazine
Tijuana Picnic is a new, bi-level Mexican restaurant by Jon Neidich and Jean-Marc Houmard, managing partners of Acme, together with Huy Chi Le of Indochine and designer Robert McKinley.
The restaurant serves elevated Mexican fare with non-traditional flavor accents in a casual atmosphere. Agave spirits experts Jim Kearns and Lynnette Marrero have developed agave spirits-based cocktails and curated the bar’s extensive spirits selection which currently has 45 tequilas (including 14 blancos, 15 reposados, 14 añejos and 2 extra añejos) and 40 mezcals. The cocktails include:
Mi Casa Margarita – mezcal, blanco tequila, lime, agave, smoked salt rim
Mi Hermano – reposado tequila, averna, fernet, dolin rouge, mole bitters
Smokin’ Maid – mezcal, cucumber, mint, lime, agave
