Must Mix: John Lermayer’s Irish Flip Cocktail

By Chilled Magazine

This St. Patrick’s Day, award-winning bartender John Lermayer wants you to put down that cheap green beer and slowly back away… all the way to the bar, for a real irish cocktail to celebrate the holiday like it deserves to be celebrated.

Lermayer’s not Irish but we challenge you not to kiss him after you taste his Irish Flip, the perfect tribute to the boozy holiday. The bartender and owner of Sweet Liberty Drinks & Supply Co. in Miami Beach has concocted a very special version of the classic cocktail featuring two of Ireland’s main staples, Jameson Whiskey and Guiness Stout.

Infused with Licor 43, Jameson Whiskey, Guiness Stout, Whole Egg and Chocolate Bitters, Lermayer’s Irish Flip is a sophisticated way to impress the Leprechauns of the party while honoring the history of the holiday. No ordinary “flip”, Lermayer’s concoction substitutes cream with Guinness which acts as the thickening agent for the cocktail. Can’t make it to Sweet Liberty, you can still pour some of Lermayer’s luck into your cup at home with this recipe.
