Must Mix: Colorful Summer Cocktails

Just steps away from the sand, Laurel Tavern Hermosa Beach is known throughout Los Angeles for its extensive beer, wine, homemade sangria and uniquely crafted cocktails.

To kick off the summer season, they released a new menu featuring refreshing, flavorful cocktails that incorporate the perfect mixture of juices, fruits and herbs.

Liquid Aloha

Ingredients:

• 1 oz. Blue Chair Coconut Rum
• 1 oz. Flor de Caña Light Rum
• 1/2 oz. Giffard Blue Curacao
• 1/8 oz. Allspice Dram
• 1/2 oz. Lime Juice
• 1 1/2 oz. Pineapple Juice
• Agave Syrup (1 to 1 Agave Nectar and Water)

Garnish: Toasted Coconut Flakes

Preparation: Place all ingredients except the toasted coconut into a tin, add ice shake hard for 10-12 seconds. Pour some agave syrup onto a small plate, rim the double old fashioned glass first with agave syrup and then with the toasted coconut. Double strain over a large ice cube 2″x 2″ in a double Old Fashioned glass.

Chase Your Passion

Ingredients:

• 1 1/2 oz. Friday Kahlo Blanco Tequila
• 7 Blueberries for Muddle
• 3/4 oz. Lemon Juice
• 1/2 oz. Liquid Alchemist Passionfruit Syrup
• 1/2 oz. Blue Chair Coconut Rum

Garnish: 3 Blueberries

Preparation: Place 7 blueberries in tin with the with the 1 1/2 oz. of Friday Kahlo Blanco Tequila, muddle till all blueberries are smashed. Pour lemon, passionfruit syrup, and coconut rum in the same tin, add ice. Hard shake for 10-12 seconds, double strain into chilled coupe. Garnish with 3 blueberries on a pic.

Doctor’s Orders

Ingredients:

• 1 1/2 oz. Vodka
• 1/2 oz. Lemon juice
• 1/2 oz. Cold Pressed Green Juice (Kale, Spinach, Apple)
• 1/4 oz. Simple Syrup
• 1 oz. Coconut Water
• 1 1/2 oz. Pineapple Juice
• 1 Large Basil Leaf (Slapped)

Garnish: Two Pineapple Leaves

Preparation: Pour all ingredients into tin add ice, shake hard for 10-12 seconds. Hawthorne strain over fresh ice into double Old Fashioned glass. Garnish with two cleaned pineapple leaves.
