Basil Hayden’s Guava Spice, created by top San Francisco mixologist Brian Means, combines the trademark spicy finish of Basil Hayden’s Bourbon with the unique and seasonal flavors of guava, lime and mint. Enhanced with the rich floral and herbal flavors of Luxardo Maraschino and anise liqueur, this cocktail is a refreshing way to toast Earth Day and the start of spring.
Basil Hayden’s® Guava Spice
Created by Brian Means (San Francisco, CA)
- 1 1/2 parts Basil Hayden’s ® Bourbon
- 5 Cubes Guava
- 1/2 part Lime Juice
- 1/4 part Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur
- 1/4 part Anise Liqueur
- Sprigs of Mint and Wedge of Lime (for garnish)
Preparation: Add guava cubes to a cocktail shaker and muddle. Add remaining ingredients with ice and shake vigorously. Strain into a Collins glass filled with crushed ice. Garnish with several mint sprigs and wedge of lime.
