Lot No. 40 – Canadian Whisky of the Year

By Chilled Magazine

Pernod Ricard USA is proud to announce its Lot No. 40 Rye Whisky was awarded a gold medal and named the Canadian Whiskey of the Year at the sixth annual Canadian Whisky Awards.

Distilled in Windsor, Ontario, Lot 40’s rich mouth-feel and full spicy character created from 100% Rye charmed the judges during the blind taste test. Additionally, the brand was in the Top 100 Spirits in the World, awarded 97 points by Wine Enthusiast in November 2015 and has earned consecutive medals in the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

The Canadian Whisky Awards recognize the best Canadian whiskies, whiskies that are distilled and matured in Canada utilizing high quality distilling practices. The winners were selected by a panel of ten independent whisky experts following a blind tasting conducted by a panel of whisky writers, bloggers and journalists. The judges described Lot No. 40 as:

“One powerfully flavorful whisky that boldly mingles the galvanizing piquancy of distilled rye grain with the soaring floral fragrance of malted rye and a fruitiness that comes with age.”
