A Wave of Wins Continue for the Portfolio – 15 medals with four Double Golds.

The John Dewar & Sons Fine Scotch Whisky Emporium portfolio has been awarded an impressive 15 medals across the 17th San Francisco World Spirits Competition®, including four Double Golds, one of which is the heart single malt of Dewar’s®, Aberfeldy® 21-Year-Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky. The 2017 Competition was the biggest in its history, featuring more than 2,100 entries, where medal winners represent some of the finest products from around the world. The awards highlight the commitment by John Dewar & Sons to premium products throughout their portfolio of aged blends and single malts, making it one of the most awarded whisky portfolios in the world.

The John Dewar & Sons range of distinguished single malt scotch whiskies, Aberfeldy®, Aultmore®, Craigellachie®, Deveron®, and Royal Brackla®, showcases and allow people to taste some of the primary malts that have long made up its award-winning Dewar’s blended scotch whisky. Since their world release, these heritage malts have continually been recognized by industry experts as outstanding and premium spirits. Aberfeldy is the primary malt and heart of the Dewar’s blend, and its 21-Year-Old expression, received a prestigious Double Gold medal, highlighting a unanimous recognition by all 43 judges of the San Francisco World Spirits Competition®. Through the exceptional skill of Dewar’s Master Blender Stephanie Macleod, these top single malts come together to create the award winning blended scotch whiskies Dewar’s White Label®, 12-year-old, 15-year-old, 18-year-old and Signature, which each took home a medal, reaffirming Dewar’s as one of the world’s most award-winning blended scotch whiskies.

The judging panel evaluated each product on an individual basis under highly focused conditions to decide the best of the best. Aberfeldy 21-Year-Old, Aultmore 18-Year-Old, Royal Brackla 16-Year-Old, and Royal Brackla 21-Year-Old, were each awarded the prestigious Double Gold Medal. The Double Gold designation is given to very few entries, as each spirit must receive Gold medal ratings by all members of the judging panel, making those awarded some of the finest spirits in the world.
