The 10th edition of the La Part des Anges charity auction of exceptional cognacs was held in Cognac, France, and raised a record amount for the Fondation Apprentis d’Auteuil, an organization which has benefited underprivileged youth and the most vulnerable families for 150 years.

This charity auction, organized by the Bureau National Interprofessionnel du Cognac (BNIC) in partnership with the auction house ArtCurial, raised a record sum of 265,700 Euros under the careful eye of this year’s event patron, starred Chef Guy Savoy. The money raised from the sales, the result of the deep mobilization of the Cognac industry and Artcurial’s international network of collectors, will provide young students at a hospitality and catering school with a new kitchen.

Twenty-four decanters and exceptional blends, offered by Cognac houses, and an art piece, were sold under the supervision of Laurie Matheson, Luc Dabadie and Marie Calzada – wine experts at Artcurial, and the gavel of Artcurial’s auctioneer Maître Hervé Poulain, in presence of 700 French and international guests.

For the first time, a partnership with the first platform for online donations HelloAsso was developed to encourage the generosity of the Cognac sector for three regional associations: Our Neighborhoods Have Talent (NQT) Poitou Charentes, the Course the Odyssey and the Soroptimist Club of Cognac. More than 9,000 Euros ($10,000) in pledges have been raised since the donation campaign was launched on July 15th, 2016. The donation portal will close on October 15th, 2016, on LaPartDesAnges.cognac.fr.

Since 2006, La Part des Anges has helped a dozen charitable projects in the areas of employment, education, heritage or social. The next edition will take place in 2018, as the event has become biennial.
