CHILLED: Tell us a bit about the projects you have coming up.

J.J. Green: I have a lot coming up. A new show called “Greenleaf” airing on the OWN Network. I’m excited about that one. Currently filming a show called “Autographs” and I’m about to head to Dallas to begin production on a new film called “Girls Guns and Gangs.” There are some projects coming up that I know I want to be apart of so I’m going to be patient and shoot my shot when its time.

CHILLED: With your busy schedule, what do you like to do with your down time?

JJG: My down time consists of a lot of basketball with my brothers and if they feel up to the challenge then I will go kick their butts on the football field. We also sit around and brainstorm a lot because no one is really where they want to be in their careers and we aim to help each other. We also host really epic kickbacks.

CHILLED: When you go out to eat, where do you like to dine?

JJG: I’m a simple man. I’d prefer to fly home to Flint, Michigan and get some of my moms home cooking or my dads BBQ. I keep hearing about a place called Nobu that I should try so I may have to check it out since it great for sushi apparently. I also really enjoy hibachi spots such as Benihana and back home in Flint, MI we have an amazing place called Saganos

CHILLED: What types of dishes do you usually order?

JJG: I usually get chicken and steak hibachi. I keep it simple since I’m allergic to all seafood except tuna. That means if I go for sushi, its all tuna rolls for me.

CHILLED: Do you cook?

JJG: I definitely do cook. I’m a beast in the kitchen. My vodka pasta is a sure winner and I make an etoufé that’ll make any woman fall in love.

CHILLED: What types of drinks do you order when out?

JJG: When I’m out I have two go to drinks. The Clover and Moscow Mule. The clover is a Martini that has Hennessy in it and everyone knows how amazing the Moscow Mule is. I also like a drink that I shouldn’t, called The Diva. The drink is so good that I had to keep ordering it but I changed the name from The Diva to The Lady Killer. It doesn’t help that it’s pink.

CHILLED: Do you prepare drinks at home?

JJG: I do. I am the designated mixologist amongst my friends. Never strong tasting but strong results.

CHILLED: Do you own a home bar? What’s it stocked with?

JJG: I don’t currently own a home bar but I do however have a few bottles stashed away for when needed. My scarce home bar consists of Hennessy Privilege V.S.O.P. and Black, A few bottles of vodka, a bottle of Jack Daniels, and a bottle of Johnnie Walker.

CHILLED: What would your ideal bar be like?

JJG: My upgrade to my current collection would include not only Hennessy Privilege VSOP and Black, but it would also include the 250 blend, X.O, Paradis, Paradis Imperial, and Richard Hennessy. I would also add more scotch options, and of course many other options to prepare drink for the ladies.

CHILLED: What is your favorite cocktail?

JJG: I love my Hennessy or Johnnie Walker at room temperature. I never turn my scotch into a cocktail but if I absolutely have to have a cocktail then I’ll do Hennessy and cranberry or like I said before, the Clover which has Hennessy in it.

CHILLED: Have you ever been a bartender?

JJG: I have never been a bartender. Just an at home mixologist with some above average skills.
