Fiona Vroom has quickly made a name for herself in the entertainment industry for the diverse and engaging characters she has brought to life on screen.

From working alongside Christoph Waltz, Nicolas Cage, and Vera Farmiga, and being directed by Tim Burton and Justin Lin, Fiona’s presence transcends from set to the screen, and she isn’t slowing down anytime soon.

This year, Fiona can be seen in the highly anticipated film Power Rangers as Abigail, opposite Elizabeth Banks. The film follows five teenagers who are inexplicably brought together by coincidence and discover they have superpowers. It is a reimagination of the global franchise Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, and the first Power Rangers film of the 21st century.

On the television front, Fiona is currently in production on Altered Carbon for Netflix, a sci-fi drama based on the Richard K. Morgan novel. She plays Sandy Kim (opposite Joel Kinnaman, James Purefoy, and Kristin Lehman), a local news reporter in a futuristic world called Altered Carbon. Fiona’s other recent television credits include a guest star role on Amazon’s The Man in the High Castle, and recurring roles on Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency (BBC America) opposite Elijah Wood, Bates Motel for A&E, and Hell on Wheels for AMC.

Here’s what Fiona tells Chilled about her new movie and her love of both sides of the bar.

Tell us a bit about the projects you are working on or have coming up.

Power Rangers has recently hit theatres. I had an amazing time working with Elizabeth Banks on that one. You can see me in Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency, on Netflix. It’s not your typical detective show. And I’m currently filming another Netflix series called, Altered Carbon.

With your busy schedule, what do you like to do with your downtime?

Sleep. Eat. Yoga. Repeat.

When you go out to eat, where do you like to dine?

I have a few local cafes I frequent. Ritual YVR is a favorite in my hood (Vancouver). They make everything fresh in-house, a farm-to-table sort of deal. I love sushi. I eat that at least once a week.

What types of dishes do you usually order?

I eat everything and will try anything. If it has melted cheese on it, that makes me especially happy.

Do you cook?

I toast bread.

What types of drinks do you order when out?

Ones with olives in them.

Do you prepare drinks at home?

I’ve been known to shake up a Martini. But I will always pour you a glass of wine.

Do you own a home bar?

I can never seem to keep the alcohol in the house long enough to call it a home bar. If it’s there, I will drink it!

What would your ideal home bar be like?

If I could manage to not drink everything in sight, then I would have a fully stocked bar. It would definitely have some gin and vodka, Campari and whiskey. I love drinking Old Fashioneds, Negronis, or anything with gin.

What is your favorite drink/cocktail?

Negronis or gin martinis.

Have you ever been a bartender?

Yes, I sure have. I love being behind the bar. Actually, I love being on either side of the bar.
