Olive Oil Cocktails – What’s This Now?

The Fig & Olive cocktail, recently debuted by the French Riviera, is comprised of blood orange infused olive oil, cucumber-infused vodka, blood orange puree, celery, egg white, simple syrup and lime juice.

Bartenders have been recently experimenting with olive oil, which is known to add depth and a silky texture to cocktails. Unlike fat-washing, olive oil has been shown to actually improve heart health!

The Fig & Olive Cocktail

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz. Cucumber Vodka
  • 1 oz. Blood Orange Juice
  • 3/4 oz. Lime Juice
  • 1/2 oz. Simple Syrup
  • 1/2 oz. Blood Orange Olive Oil
  • 1/2 Celery Sprig

Preparation: Chop up celery sprig and muddle inside mixing tin, then add in blood orange olive oil after the celery is muddled. Add juice and syrup to mixing tin, then add vodka, ice and shake strain over fresh ice. Add splash of soda and garnish with a celery sprig.
