Our Chilled 100 Ambassadors hailing from D.C. are remarkable and never stop impressing us with their amazing cocktail scene.

Joining us in the Yacht Room inside Hank’s Oyster Bar in Dupont Circle were several of the areas top bartenders, including Aaron Joseph, Benny Hurwitz, Denise Jauregui, Dave Lanzalone, Jessi Weinstein, Sarah Rosner, Carlos Paiva, Jenny Feldt, Jason Swaringen, Natalie Flynn, Andrea Tateosian, Lindsay DiSalvo, Ulf Ekholm, and Hazel Alvarado.

To start the evening, the bartenders tasted Mellow Corn Straight Corn Whiskey, Evan Williams, Elijah Craig, and Pikesville Rye at the guidance of Liz Townsend, regional manager for Heaven Hill. It was a whiskey lovers’ dream! The group also enjoyed a variety of food choices including oysters, Hog Island BBQ oysters, clam chowder, and pumpkin pear soup. Moving on to the main course, which included choices of lobster rolls, crab cakes, braised short rib, flat iron steak, branzino, scallops, and mussels. The dishes were the perfect pairing for cocktails created by bar manager Sherra Kurtz.

The Bushel & The Rye

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 oz. Rittenhouse Rye
  • 1/2 oz. Lustau Amontillado Sherry
  • 1/4 oz. Ginger Juice
  • 1/2 oz. Blueberry Demerera Reduction
  • 3 dashes Crude Tiki Threeki Bitters

Summer of Ceres

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 oz. Mellow Corn Whiskey
  • 1/2 oz. Sweet Corn Syrup
  • 3 dashes Angostura Bitters
  • Roasted Corn Red Pepper-Smoked Paprika Salt

Larceny Left Hand

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 oz. Larceny Bourbon
  • 3/4 oz. Carpano Antica
  • 3/4 oz. Strawberry-Infused Campari
  • 2 dashes Chocolate Mole Bitters
  • 2 dashes Ginger Bitters
  • Candied Fennel Sugar Rim

The night was a total success thanks to Chilled 100 national director Max Ferro and with the help of Chilled 100 Member Jessi Weinstein, beverage director at Hank’s Oyster Bar.
