Boston’s Barmobile Will Bring the Bar to You
By Chilled Magazine
This Kickstarter Campaign Is On a Roll
First there were restaurant pop-ups; then there were bar pop ups. If bartending partners Domingo-Martin Barreres, Kevin Mabry, and Suzie Dagenais have their way, their Kickstarter campaign will soon bring the bar directly to you with the Barmobile.
The Barmobile is exactly what it sounds like – a mobile bar. But not just a mobile bar, a vintage bus that has been – or will be once the $35,000 funding is in place — tricked out from end-to-end as a full bar, complete with a private area in the back for small parties. The team of Barreres, Mabry, and Dagenais offers over 50 years cumulative bar experience, as well as the enthusiasm and whimsy to make this thing happen. Now, all that needs to fall into place is the money.
Chilled spoke to Barreres, who spearheaded the project.
Chilled: Why the Barmobile?
Domingo-Martin Barreres: It has been a dream of mine, and, undoubtedly countless others, for years now. Unfortunately, until the recent advent of the Massachusetts 12c Alcohol Caterer’s license, it was just not legally possible. Add to that being able to team up with Kevin Mabry and then Suzie Dagenais. There was no way Boston was not getting its first ever cocktail catering bus – and a beauty at that.
Chilled: What sets you apart?
Barreres: The Barmobile will be a self-contained, fully licensed, awe-inspiring piece of innovation with fully functional bar(s), serving amazing classic and custom cocktails as well as delectable edibles to provide an unparalleled guest experience. Did I mention this beautifully restored, vintage bus comes to you?
Chilled: What do we hope to accomplish?
Barreres: We bring the experience to you as never before. The Barmobile will also have a 6 to 8 person private, swanky dining and drinking lounge in the back. Hosting a party should have its perks. There is a bartender philosophy that if a guest leaves your bar happier than when they arrived, you’ve done your job. So I guess we are changing that as well. The Barmobile will be leaving you a happier guest than when we arrived.
