Austin Eastciders Launches Ruby Red Grapefruit

By Chilled Magazine

Grapefruit season is now year-round as Austin Eastciders adds Ruby Red Grapefruit to their wildly popular line of pre-Prohibition style Texas ciders.

The new offering, now available in Austin Eastciders markets, is a refreshing and slightly tart cider made with Ruby Red Grapefruits from the Texas Rio Grande Valley.

“The Ruby Red grapefruit’s unique bitter-yet-sweet taste profile beautifully complements our crisp, dry, Old World-style cider. And the red grapefruit is the official state fruit of Texas. It’s meant to be!”
– Brittany Mathieu, R&D Manager, Austin Eastciders

“Americans are falling in love with cider all over again and we’re thrilled to be part of that with our sessionable, easy-drinking ciders. Our last variety, Blood Orange, helped us grow by 144% from 2016 to 2017*.”
– Johnny Heiselberg, CEO, Austin Eastciders

The Austin-based cidery just shipped over 500,000 cases in its fourth full year of operations and recently opened a 1,960-square-foot tasting room in its hometown. Austin Eastciders is the number one craft cider in Texas and the number three nationwide.

Austin Eastciders Ruby Red Grapefruit is now available on shelves and bar taps in Texas, Oklahoma, Philadelphia, D.C., New York, and other markets across the Mid-Atlantic. It’s available in 6-pack and 12-pack 12-oz cans, and on draft.
