Little Black Dress Wines Supports Women Veterans During New York’s Fashion Week

On September 3, 2014, Little Black Dress Wines will sponsor and say “Thank you” to women veterans on September 3, 2014 to kick off Fashion Week, along with veteran organization Fatigues to Fabulous, with a “Salute the Runway” event in the tents at Lincoln Center at New York Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.

LBDW-groupLittle Black Dress Wines will continue its focus on serving women, not just through their women palate specific crafted wines, but by supporting 15 current and former military servicewomen as they walk the runway wearing different variations of the women’s versatile wardrobe must-have, the little black dress. Some of the participating American design houses include Donna Karan, Carmen Marc Valvo, Ralph Lauren, and Calvin Klein. Bobbi Brown Cosmetics will be providing makeup services for all the veteran models.

LBDWRoughly 10% of California winemakers are women. Little Black Dress Wines, who is created by female winemaker, Zidanelia Arcidiacono, focuses on supporting women’s issues and is a proud to recognize this brave group of under-acknowledged women, “As winemaker for Little Black Dress Wines, putting into practice lessons and insights garnered from various mentors led to my early success. There is no better female mentor than our female military and veterans who risk their lives to protect us. ‘Salute the Runway’ is just a small token of our appreciation and the opportunity for Little Black Dress Wines to give back” says Zidanelia Arcidiacono, aka “Z” Winemaker for Little Black Dress Wines.

Wine-table“Salute the Runway” will highlight the critical role our women soldiers have served in our Nation’s military and showcase historic uniforms dating back to the mid-1800’s. Uniforms are provided by the Women in Military Service for America Memorial Foundation in Washington D.C.

LBDWOn June 14, 2014 Little Black Dress Wines and Fatigues to Fabulous launched the “Salute the Runway,” initiative to honor the history of women in military service and to raise support for women who are leaving the armed forces and re-entering civilian life. As part of the initiative, Salute the Runway has toured military bases producing small fashion shows on military bases including Fort Bliss in El Paso TX, Fort Hood in Killeen Texas and Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Tacoma, WA. The initiative has been enabling women veterans build their confidence by being appropriately dressed for any occasion as they re-enter the workplace with the help of the little black dress. The models participating in the shows have been selected from the ranks of female veterans and active duty members.
