Introducing Pedro Jimenez and The Original Paîs Wines

By Chilled Magazine

Whilst Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio and Merlot are old friends, reliable in what we can expect from them and trusted on the palate – it’s time to shake things up a bit and try something new and different.

Pedro Jimenez: The traditional base for Chile’s famous Pisco, this “melon-ey” grape has been given new life as the Chilean heart of a soft, fresh white wine, blended in this instance with small amounts of aromatic Moscato and vibrant Sauvignon Blanc.

The Original País: Believed to originate from Spain, where it no longer exists, this 100% Chilean País is produced from old vines rescued by independent farmers. A juicy, smooth, sabroso – or “tasty” – red wine, livened with a little spice.

The winemakers for Frontera Specialties source hand-picked grapes from small growers and independent co-ops dedicated to preserving lesser-known Chilean varietals and Chile’s winemaking heritage. The Frontera Specialties labels feature hand-drawn illustrations drawn from Lira Popular, a modern-day take on an edgy urban art form popular in Chile in the early 1900s. Both wines are packaged in eco-friendly light-weight glass bottles.

This brand is aimed squarely at the hearts and minds of independent thinkers who enjoy trying something new. This brand emphasizes values that matter: a sense of discovery, allied with socially and eco-responsible products that are honest and fun.
