Four Must Mix Spooky Cocktails for Halloween

Posted October 15, 2012 by in

Whether you are having a big Halloween party this year, or just a small gathering at home, these cocktails are sure to be a hit. Not only are they delicious, they include some spooky garnishes that are to die for!

Monster Martini

Ingredients:

  • Red gel icing
  • 3/4 oz. Midori
  • 2 oz. citrus vodka
  • Splash of white cranberry juice

Preparation: Carefully pipe red gel icing around martini glass to give the dripping blood look and set aside. Mix all ingredients in a shaker with ice and strain into prepared glass. Use either plastic floating eyeballs or the gummy kind – Which some people may enjoy more because they soak up the alcohol and give the bonus of an added spiked snack!

Candy Corn Martini

For this cocktail, you must first make some candy corn infused vodka. This is fairly simple to do. If you own an infuser (homewetbar.com) you just add candy corns to the slotted section and vodka to the pitcher, and allow the candy corns to infuse into the vodka for a few hours in the refrigerator. If you don’t have an infuser, you can just add candy corns to a container, fill with vodka, cover and shake, and also leave in the fridge for a few hours (You will have to strain the candy corns from the vodka when ready).

The end result is a candy corn-flavored vodka that turns a bright orange color, which is perfect for Halloween cocktails!

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz candy corn infused vodka
  • 2 oz pineapple juice

Preparation: Mix ingredients well and pour into an orange sugar-rimmed martini glass. For an added touch, put some candy corns in the bottom of the glass.

Spooky Screwdriver

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz. black vodka (such as Blavod)
  • 3 oz. no pulp orange juice

Preparation: Pour OJ over ice into a highball glass and then gently pour the black vodka over it to create the orange/black layered look (You can make this like you would a Black & Tan and use a spoon to gently pour the vodka on top of the OJ). This drink looks very cool served this way, however, you must serve this cocktail with a stirrer so your guests can stir the ingredients before drinking! You can also smudge some black gel icing on an orange wedge and garnish with a “rotten” orange.

Vampire Blood

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz. raspberry flavored vodka
  • 4 fresh raspberries
  • 1 oz. black plum puree
  • 1/4 oz. simple syrup

Preparation: Muddle fresh raspberries, plum puree and simple syrup in a glass with ice. Add vodka and shake. Strain into glass rimmed with “blood” (red gel icing) and garnish with gummy vampire fangs.
