The Moet Red Carpet Glamour was developed by Chicago native, Adam Seger, who won Moet & Chandon’s first ever Moet Oscar Cocktail Contest. The contest gave fans a chance to submit their delicious cocktail recipes using Moet & Chandon Imperial for a chance to have their cocktail featured at the prestigious Governors Ball.

MOËT & CHANDON RETURNS AS THE EXCLUSIVE CHAMPAGNE OF THE 84TH ANNUAL ACADEMY AWARDS®

THE EXCLUSIVE CHAMPAGNE ANNOUNCES ACCLAIMED HOME ENTERTAINING PARTNERSHIP AND INAUGUARAL OSCARS® COCKTAIL CONTEST.

Moët & Chandon, the champagne of success and glamour since 1743, is proud to return for the fourth year as the exclusive champagne of the 84th Annual Academy Awards. Guests are able to enjoy Moët & Chandon’s flagship Impérial champagne on the red carpet and in the lobby of the Kodak theatre.  Throughout the course of the night, approximately 1,000 bottles of Moët Impérial are poured.

Moët & Chandon will celebrate this year’s awards with the announcement of a new collaboration with home-entertaining expert, chef, food writer and host of the Cooking Channel’s FoodCrafters, Aida Mollenkamp. The acclaimed chef and culinary curator has teamed up with the world’s most loved champagne to create new food recipes designed to help viewers celebrate the Oscars at home. Aida’s cooking style is considered west coast eclectic for its signature combination of fresh, seasonal ingredients and the ethnic flavors of contemporary California. Mollencamp has taken her artisanal cooking style and created themed food recipes that draw inspiration from a selection of this year’s most acclaimed Best Picture nominees, providing at-home viewers with a creative culinary collection for guests, all which pair perfectly with Moët & Chandon Imperial. Examples include:

  • Smoked Salmon, Crème Fraîche, and Fennel Rillettes; The classic French ingredients in this dish are just the right inspiration for a classic like Hugo
  • Pancetta, Thyme, and Fontina Gougères; A modern interpretation of authentic French style just like The Artist and Midnight in Paris
  • Crisp Tempura Vegetables with Miso-Mustard Sauce; A modern Hawaiian-inspired dish with locally sourced ingredients ideal for the cast of The Descendants
  • Meyer Lemon Icebox Pie Bites Inspired by The Help; Icebox cakes are a perfect dessert for warm Southern nights and this bite size version is great for at-home entertaining

Mollenkamp will also serve as a judge for the inaugural Moët Oscar Cocktail contest, giving consumers the exclusive opportunity to submit a cocktail to be selected as the official champagne cocktail of the Governors Ball; the after-party of the most iconic celebrations of the year – The Oscars®. Reached through the Moët & Chandon USA Facebook page, http://oscarcontest.moet.com, or a specially developed QR code created for mobile users, the contest invites participants to submit their most Oscar-worthy champagne cocktails.  One talented mixologist will have the honor of their cocktail – selected for its originality, taste and popularity – be brought to life at the 84th Academy Awards.

The Moët Oscar Cocktail contest participants will photograph their original cocktail and submit a recipe that incorporates Moët & Chandon Impérial as an ingredient.   The winner will be determined by a combination of “likes” on the official Moët Oscar Cocktail Contest Facebook page and the discretion of an expert panel. In addition to Aida Mollencamp, judges include renowned mixologist and cocktail writer, Lindsay Nader; Moët & Chandon USA’s Vice President and luxury goods expert, Ludovic du Plessis; Oscar-nominated costume designer and chair of the Academy’s Governors Ball, Jeffrey Kurland. The winner will be announced on February 16th

Moët & Chandon Impérial will be at the forefront of the Oscars, featured at additional events leading up the weekend.
