With more than 20 years of experience crafting wine, buying, and managing in the international wine trade, in 2006 Steve Grimley and his family established a permanent base tucked away in McLaren Vale, South Australia. Five O’Clock Somewhere is comprised of passionate, young winemakers and wine-lovers who craft collections of wine that are inspired, inventive and engaging.
Through collaborating with various talented winemakers and artists, Five O’Clock Somewhere established its 5OS Project, which offers small batch wines that were created exclusively for this brand. Each wine is unique in its own varietal, regional and vintage characteristics, and designers capture this authenticity by crafting one-of-a-kind labels that tell a story for every wine.
Founder Steve Grimley also created his own exclusive label, Ess & See, where he experiments with making innovative, compelling wines that he personally enjoys and are distinct in their origin, variety and vintage.
“Our aim is to create a collection of wines that are interesting, purposeful and honest in a dare-to-be-great environment. We always assumed we’d keep the wines available only around our home town of McLaren Vale, but after meeting the Biagio crew and hearing of their vision, we had no hesitation on embarking on an exciting adventure into the US market and look forward to making more wines available in the years ahead.”
– Founder, Steve Grimley
